The Southern Mallee District is home to a vibrant sporting community with clubs catering to a wide range of interests. Everything from football (AFL), netball and basketball to tennis, golf, lawn bowls and swimming, there are opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to get involved. Sporting clubs play an important role in bringing the community together and promoting an active, healthy lifestyle.
Each sport plays in their own leagues, often arranged as a rotation of Southern Mallee towns playing each other. Some sports such as football, netball and cricket are part of leagues in neighbouring districts and regularly play in Murraylands or the Riverland.
Don't be shy, get involved!
No matter what your age or skill level, getting involved with a local sporting club is a great way to keep active, make new friends and be part of the community spirit in the Southern Mallee District. Our sporting clubs are run by volunteers, so even if you don't want to play there are lots of ways to get involved!
