Lameroo's Towering Tributes to Agricultural Heritage

Standing an impressive 24 meters tall and 33 meters wide, Lameroo's latest landmarks are colossal canvases painted on Viterra's grain silos. These masterpieces, created by internationally acclaimed artist Sam 'Smug' Bates and curated by the award-winning Juddy Roller team, have quickly become a must-see attraction.

Eastern Silo

The artwork of the Eastern Silo powerfully captures Lameroo's deep agricultural roots, honoring the grit and determination of the pioneering farmers who braved the harsh Mallee landscape. Many visitors have already hailed it as 'Australia's best silo art'.

Completed in April 2024 by artist Sam (Smug) Bates.

Western Silo

After the success and impact of the Eastern Silo, Sam (Smug) Bates returned to Lameroo for the Western Silo. This beautiful artwork celebrates the integral, evolving, and empowering role women play in Lameroo’s farming community.

Lameroo's silo art makes for an ideal pit stop on the journey between Adelaide and Melbourne or Sydney. However, we encourage you to stay around and explore what the Southern Mallee has to offer; including some of the region's premier 4WD parks and camping spots.
