Ngarkat Conservation Park

Ngarkat Conservation Park located south of our district is 271 000 hectares in size and is the largest patch of rem­nant native veg­e­ta­tion sit­u­at­ed in set­tled agri­cul­tur­al South Australia.


Ngarkat has a range of recre­ation­al oppor­tu­ni­ties in peace­ful and remote sur­round­ings. Explore the mallee by dri­ving on the remote tracks, camp under the stars across the parks 11 camp­grounds, or explore clos­er on foot on any of the 10 walk­ing trails designed to give you a bet­ter appre­ci­a­tion of the vast mallee landscape.


Open 24 hours 7 days a week

* The one way sec­tion of the Bor­der Track with­in Ngarkat Con­ser­va­tion Park is closed from 1 Novem­ber to 31 March each year

This park is closed on days of Cat­a­stroph­ic Fire Dan­ger and may be closed on days of Extreme Fire Danger.
